Comments: We lost our dear Dexter this morning to DM. He was a male Rottweiler whose 6th birthday would have been tomorrow. We were ignorant to the symptoms until he was in the final stages and unable to stand or even sit up. This site educated us.

Comments: My Boxer-mix was confirmed a few weeks ago to have both copies of the mutated gene for DM and does show signs of DM. I am awaiting the meds Dr. Clemons recommends and I am remaining hopeful to slow down the progression. I appreciate greatly all the information and support this site offers.

Comments: My Sophie GSD was referred to Dr. Coates at Mizzou Vet Clinic on 7/31/17. She stayed there overnight and we picked her up after her MRI on 8/1/17. We are waiting for her DNA test. During her stay at Mizzou they did xrays, blood work and the mri to rule out any other issues. I wished I had found this site prior to her appointment.
